MLS is selling this as the Chicago Fire 2011 Home Authentic Soccer Jersey. This seems like a bad idea?

Well, the website is showing authentic short sleeved away jersey...
if true, that may be pretty neat. The only way to get the away jersey last year was to go authentic. They had the replica available, but I wanted the authentic because I think the Chicago flag on the side looked pretty good. I had a hell of a time getting the authentic version and thought it was dumb they didn’t offer it on the website. Hopefully that is fixed this year.
And that we get an actual jersey sponsor this year not named “Bimbo”. I seriously hope we get a sponsor soon, and maybe even a neat re design too. Call me crazy, but I kinda like what the Dynamo and the Timbers have done with their new kits. The Whitecaps on the other hand, yikes…

Kits
I completely disagree with Ryan. I think the Whitecaps kits are much classier than the Dynamo and Timbers. The Dynamo have the collar and intricate design going for them at least.
From a business perspective, this makes sense. Might as well take advantage of fans who may not be aware of the current sponsor limbo and make some money from them. I am sure they will change things for the new season after they find a new sponsor. They must.
I would love a blue alternate kit for the Fire.
Dave, although we may disagree on the Dynamo and Timbers kits...
I agree with you on a blue alternate for the Fire. In fact, I would be a fan of a 3rd kit in general, like most European teams have. A couple of months ago, we had mentioned we would like to see a 3rd kit be in the design of the Chicago flag, like the Red Stars have worn. What is your opinion of a jersey like this Dave (obviously redesigned for the Fire)?
