Hopes are high for new Chicago Fire signing Gaston Puerari. Fans on the Chicago Fire facebook page have been hinting at a new song for Section 8, and with any luck we'll be singing it often if Puerari finds the net with any consistency. I decided to see if I could come up with a longer version. Follow me after the break for lyrics and music.
"Gaston is a talented, offensive player with the ability to make an impact for our club," said Fire Technical Director Frank Klopas. "We are excited to bring in a player with quick feet, good passing skills and the ability to finish on goal. Gaston's work ethic and drive to win makes him a perfect fit to represent the Fire badge."
To the tune of "Gaston" from Disney's Beauty and the Beast (lyrics below begin at 00:30 in video):
No one's slick as Gaston
No one's quick as Gaston
No one's moves as incredibly sick as Gaston's
For there's no man in town half as manly
Perfect, a pure paragon
You can ask any fan, coach, or athlete
And they'll tell you whose team they prefer to be on
No one's been like Gaston
A king pin like Gaston
No one's got a strike into the wind like Gaston
As a specimen, yes, he's intimidating
My- what a guy, that Gaston
Give five "hurrahs!"
Give twelve "hip-hips!"
Gaston is the best
And the rest is all drips
No one fights like Gaston
Douses lights like Gaston
In a football match nobody strikes like Gaston
For there's no one as burly and brawny
As you see he's got goals to spare
Not a bit of him's scraggly or scrawny
And ev'ry last inch of him's covered with red!
No one hits like Gaston
Matches wits like Gaston
In a shooting match nobody scores like Gaston
He's especially good at his finishing
Another three points, thanks Gaston!
No one shoots like Gaston
Makes those beauts like Gaston
Then goes tromping around wearing boots like Gaston
He uses "new sponsor" in all of his decorating
My what a guy!
Think Section 8 could get through all this in unison?
