Your intrepid rumor monger's enthusiasm was dampened by this report of Chicago Fire President Julian Posada denying interest in or contact with Mexican International midfielder Pavel Pardo. But sure enough, that story got some fresh legs tonight. Pardo was spotted leaving Toyota Park accompanied by a Fire staffer and a young woman. The Daily Herald's Orrin Schwartz and MLSfutbol.com's Raquel Ortiz (Spanish) spotted Pardo following the Fire's 1-0 loss to the Portland Timbers.
Pardo himself confirmed that he plans to sign with an MLS club. He said he had "a few" offers and was weighing which to accept. With his visit to Toyota Park, we can be pretty sure the Fire are one of his suitors.
