Mike Banner is healthy; Gabriel Ferrari is not
The MLS Injury Report updated today and Mike Banner has moved from OUT to off the report. Gabriel Ferrari is not only back on but listed as OUT with a right ankle sprain. Steven Kinney and Marko Maric remain on the DL.
Overall this doesn't impact the team too much as Ferrari's three appearances came as substitutions in a string of three games in a row between June 18th to June 26th and he hasn't made the bench since. Mike Banner struggled to get playing time on last year's team and no doubt will have to work up the playing time ladder. This is the first time in quite awhile that Banner has been listed as healthy. For the rumor mongers, I'll mention the fact that Banner has seen time at LB/RB in the past. If an international spot is needed, Banner being healthy might make it just that much easier to cut Bratislav Ristic who has been relegated to the backup LB/RB role.
Congratulations to Banner for getting healthy and best of luck to Ferrari, Maric, and Kinney in their ongoing return to play.
