Chicago Fire Rumor Mill: Wilman Conde to New York Red Bulls?
Alexi Lalas is hearing a deal is in the works to bring Wilman Conde to the New York Red Bulls. The Chicago Fire hold his MLS rights so New York would have to trade something to Chicago before being allowed to sign him. What would you ask for?

Big Apple Soccer reporting that NYRB have indeed acquired Wilman Conde’s rights although there’s no confirmation or even speculation as to what NYRB paid.

The Red Bulls have fortified their defense with an intriguing acquisition on Thursday by purchasing the rights of Colombian defender Wilman Conde from the Chicago Fire, according to a reliable MLS source.

I read this elsewhere
… and it said the deal was for a draft pick. Now, I understand that Wilman is not going to wear the Fire shirt again, and I’m good with that – but NYRB doesn’t even have a first rounder left for 2013. Conde for a second- or third-round pick doesn’t seem like fabulous business to me. I wanted more for a former MLS Best XI player.
NYRB doesn't have any more draft picks to give up...
the word now is that NYRB will give us a 6 figure allocation sum payment. That’s a lot of money for a defender who’s best days are likely behind him. I will take that. If we do bring in a DP or another signing, we definitely can use the allocation money.
