Gamethread: USMNT vs. Panama; 7:30 PM CST; Galavision and ESPN3.com

Let's replace Bill Hamid with Sean Johnson in tonight's team picture...

As I mentioned in my earlier Hat Trick post, we will have a gamethread on HTIOT going for the USMNT match tonight. The US will look to carry over the momentum from their win at the death vs. Venezuela into tonight's match. I am pretty excited to see how the USA will look tonight against an up-and-coming Panama side. Here's to hoping Panama is aggressive in play tonight and doesn't lay down like Venezuela did the other night. And, I will say it again, hopefully we see some Sean Johnson action tonight. I will post starting lineups as soon I have them, along with commentary during the match. We encourage you to drop by and share your USMNT comments as well.

Star-divide

As a reminder, the next USMNT match after this will not occur until Feb. 29th vs. Italy. I would expect a more senior team for the Italy match. We of course will have a gamethread going for that match as well. Good luck to the USMNT tonight, let's bring home another win boys!

Twellman talking about how it's hard to play in this stadium...

says he has been hit in the head with 1 or 2 batteries. Ouch, that would hurt. Definitely a testing ground for this young team.

USMNT Allocation Order

The allocation ranking is the mechanism used to determine which MLS club has first priority to acquire a U.S. National Team player who signs with MLS after playing abroad, or a former MLS player who returns to the League after having gone to a club abroad for a transfer fee. The allocation rankings may also be used in the event two or more clubs file a request for the same player on the same day. The allocations will be ranked in reverse order of finish for the 2010 season, taking playoff performance into account.

Once the club uses its allocation ranking to acquire a player, it drops to the bottom of the list. A ranking can be traded, provided that part of the compensation received in return is another club’s ranking. At all times, each club is assigned one ranking. The rankings reset at the end of each MLS League season.

2012 Allocation Order

1. Vancouver Whitecaps

2. New England Revolution
