Rafael Robayo signing with the Chicago Fire
It looks like we have a player signing before the draft after all. Colombian international and apparently now former Millonarios player Rafael Robayo announced over Twitter today:
Gracias DIOS por esta linda oportunidad de jugar en la MLS y muchas gracias al Chicago Fire por haberse interesado en mi como refuerzo
Robayo had also used the social network last week to announce that he was unable to reach an agreement with his current club. Millonarios is the same team that former Chicago Fire defender Wilman Conde and former Fire head coach Juan Carlos Osorio have ties with.
It's hard to gauge where Robyao will play but he would be a welcome addition to the club. There are concerns for Sebastian Grazzini's health and Marco Pappa's transfer rumors. Robayo should be a valuable part of Frank Klopas' rotation without some of the problems that come with big names. This deal seems to be official and only needing confirmation from the Chicago Fire and Major League Soccer. Obligatory highlight reel after the break.

Good to see a signing coming in...
I can’t find much about him though. I do agree it will make the midfield battle pretty interesting. Although I think it will be awhile before we know just how our midfield will be shaping up. It would be nice to get a concrete decision on Pappa one way or the other soon so we can prepare accordingly.

It sounds like he is most comfortable at DM, but is capable of playing on the wings. Which makes it most likely he will play a defensive minded LM or RM in our 4-3-1-2.
According to a retweet from Guillermo Rivera...
it sounds like he is more of a no.8 type of CM rather than a DM. More like a Grazzini type according to that source, who sounded pretty knowledgeable.

Seems like he could fit in very well with us...
especially if he can be either a CM or DM as one of your link states. Grazzini has been a revelation, it would be incredible to have another player on the pitch with Grazzini that can also link up the midfield to the attack. Sounds like Robayo might have that type of capabilities. Now we just need a legit striker to go up top with Oduro and things will be looking very good.
