2012 US Open Cup Quarterfinals Matchthread

Stay connected for news and updates

The Philadelphia Union had Sporting KC on their knees in a 4-0 slaughter on Saturday. Will the Dayton Dutch Lions be able to keep the anti-KC magic going in Open Cup play?

Yes, our beloved Fire may be out of the Open Cup, but it is certainly something that's important on the American soccer landscape. That's the reason most Fire fans care so much about it when the club is still in it. The Philadelphia Union are currently pounding away on the Harrisburg City Islanders, but there are some other compelling match-ups: Sporting KC, the Fire's opponent on Friday, plays host to the USL-Pro Dayton Dutch Lions at 7:30pm CST, and later at 9:30pm, Chivas USA hosts the Charlotte Eagles and the Seattle Sounders travel to Kezar Stadium to take on the San Jose Earthquakes.

So feel free to join us in some good old-fashioned KC and Sounders-bashing. It's good clean fun for everyone!
