Pavel Pardo questionable for Friday's match; other injury notes

John Rieger-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

Chicago midfielder Pavel Pardo might be out for yet another game when the Fire take on Kansas City this Friday.

MLSSoccer.com's Anthony Zilis reported today that Chicago Fire midfielder Pavel Pardo is questionable for Friday's match:

Chicago Fire midfielder Pável Pardo didn’t practice on Tuesday and may miss his third straight game when the Fire head to Kansas City on Friday for a matchup of the Eastern Conference’s top two teams.

As Zilis cites in his article, 23 year-old Alex has been starting admirably in Pardo's place. The Brazilian youngster has a goal in 179 minutes of play in the past two games. Alex has also been taking a majority of the free kicks and corner kicks with Pardo out. Here are Tuesday's Injury Reports for both clubs:

CHICAGO FIRE -- OUT: DF Cory Gibbs (R knee meniscus repair); QUESTIONABLE: MF Pavel Pardo (L calf tightness)

SPORTING KANSAS CITY -- OUT: FW Teal Bunbury (L knee ACL tear); DF Cyprian Hedrick (L fibula fracture); QUESTIONABLE: MF Paulo Nagamura (R foot contusion)

Steven Kinney came off the injury report for the Fire. He is unlikely to make the Gameday 18.

KC's Teal Bunbury had been previously ruled out for the season due to an injury he suffered in an August 26th game against Toronto FC. The 22 year-old remains KC's 3rd highest goal scorer. Thanks to a red card suspension for Jacob Peterson, Bunbury's injury leaves Kei Kamara, C.J. Sapong, Graham Zusi, and Aurelien Collin as KC's only eligible multiple goal scorers for this match. Collin, a stellar central defender, has not scored since he tailled 3 goals in 5 games to start the season.
