I have been using the buses that leave bars around the Chicago area to get to Fire games for almost 3 seasons now. I have always been bemused by the fact that these buses sell out. The stadium is always half-empty (half-full if the Fire are winning), yet somehow we're allowing the buses to sell out. This tells me that there are more people that want to attend the game, but do not, because lets be honest...who wants to drive to Toyota Park when everyone else is partying on a bus?
I understand that fiscally it does not make sense to have a bus with less than 10 people on it and when the bars themselves used to run these buses, they couldn't risk having another bus on hold if it didn't sell out. But since the club has taken over this service I feel like they should have the ability to get more fans to the games on buses.
1. Start a waiting list at some point. If the waiting list reaches a certain number, ADD A BUS! If it does not, at least the fans know you tried, and it will motivate them to try earlier next time.
2. Fix the webpage. Myself and others are unable to order tickets from the website. We have tried from different computers and different IP addresses, and the web-page throws some error any time you click on the "Find Tickets" button. Myself and others are all season ticket holders. Ironically, a friend of mine, who isn't a season ticket holder, has no problems at all using the Pub to Pitch website. FIX IT!
These buses are an incredible service when I do use them. My best memories of Fire games are from these buses. But I don't understand how a club that is struggling to sell tickets and get people at the games would deny people the opportunity to partake in this experience.
I am curious to know if my ideas wouldn't work / if there are other ideas / or if other people even have issues / constructive criticism for the Pub to Pitch service.
