October 8th Plans Finalized: It's A Three Day Long Celebration

Thirteenth Anniversary of the Chicago Fire
Thirteenth Anniversary of the Chicago Fire

From Section 8's website, spread the news loud and clear:

October 8th, 2010 marks the 139th anniversary of the great Chicago fire and the 13th anniversary of the formation of the Chicago Fire Soccer Club. In honor of the club that we hold dear to our hearts, Section 8 Chicago has worked with the Chicago Fire Soccer Club to plan a celebration of this team’s past, present, and future.

Join us over three days of events organized at a variety of venues around Chicago to highlight both the depth of affection that Fire fans have for their club and the impact of the club upon the community. We'll celebrate with Fire players and staff, watch classic matches on DVD, raffle off prizes, play games (including an organized supporters' match), enjoy an extended, catered tailgate, and much more.

The Fire face Columbus on the anniversary itself, and due to the presence of the US National Team in the city during the weekend, you never know what distinguished Fire alums might take time to help celebrate the club that is part of their connection with the game. This first weekend of October we gather in a combined effort of team and supporters to remember and demonstrate our commitment to Tradition, Honor and Passion!
