From a U.S. Soccer Federation press release:
The U.S. Soccer Federation has announced that the match between the U.S. Men's National Team and Egypt has been canceled due to the current conditions in the country. The teams were scheduled to meet on Feb. 9 in Cairo. After exploring other options, the U.S. has determined it will not play a match on this fixture date.
Sobering news that reminds us that real world occurrences often trump those in the sport world and sometimes it really is just a game. The situation in Egypt is way too complicated for us to dive in here at HTIOT but on behalf of all of the writers here, I wish there will be a peaceful resolution to this conflict as quickly as possible.
