Kickoff for the Chicago Fire vs. New York Red Bulls Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Quarterfinal has been changed to 5:00 p.m. CT due to a power outage at TOYOTA PARK. The match originally scheduled for 7:30 p.m. CT was impacted by a severe thunderstorm that took place Monday morning and left over 817,000 customers in the Chicagoland area without power. The match will take place at TOYOTA PARK as scheduled and will be streamed live on Chicago-Fire.com and the team will have the Twitter updates like usual.
The team will offer free admission to the general public with gates opening at 3:30 p.m. CST and free parking. The club will honor seat locations for those who have previously purchased tickets and for those that have yet to purchase tickets for this afternoon’s match, seating will be general admission on the East side of TOYOTA PARK. All purchases will be refunded the Week of July 18.
Section 8 Chicago is currently working out their beer bus schedule. This is devastating for the front office as they had to bid to host this game and they will certainly lose a great deal of money. If you've never been to a game before and are in the area, now's your chance to go free of charge.
