I don't need much of a primer for this game. I know most of you feel the same way I do about Seattle. To say I want the Fire to kick them all around the pitch tonight would be an understatement. Not to mention pay them back for the US Open Cup Final loss last year in Seattle. Our Men in Red will certainly have multiple motivating factors to choose from tonight. 3 points would not only help the standings (obviously), but also help the Fire show that we are definitely a team to be reckoned with. Many of us feel somewhat ignored and disrespected in the landscape of MLS, and tonight is a good way to change that. We certainly have the talent, and it's about time we break our drought against Seattle with a big, big win. What could be a better way to show how good we are than sending the team that "invented everything" back to Seattle with their tails between their legs?
Unfortunately Chris Rolfe is not fit for this game, but playing it safe is better in the long run than rushing him back. Other than that, expect to see all the usual familiar faces out on the pitch tonight and Section 8 in loud, glorious voice. I am going with a 2-1 Fire win. Gonna go with an Oduro goal and an Anibaba (Yes Anibaba) goal off of a corner kick. Jalil has put his head to the ball on a few corners this season and I feel like he has a goal coming soon in this fashion. As always, please join us on the gamethread tonight for all the usual shenanigans. Starting lineups will be posted once announced.
