From the team: "Thelearned after Saturday's match against Seattle Sounders FC - via the referee's standard game report - that Fire head coach was dismissed and defender Jalil Anibaba was red carded for his challenge in the seventh minute of second half stoppage time. They will both be suspended for the next game, at on Friday, May 4."
It was later revealed by Chicago Fire team writer Jeff Crandall that Frank Klopas was 'dismissed' for language. Chicago assistant coach Mike Matkovich or Leo Percovich figure to coach the Fire on Friday. It's interesting to note that both men have coached for Chivas USA before. Rookie defender is first in line to start in place. This incident could speed up a move to trade some offensive depth for some defensive depth.
The Seattle Sounders escape any discipline for now. Anibaba and Klopas will be out for actions related to the game. The MLS Disciplinary Committee has yet to weigh in and will almost certainly do so. Their decision(s) will be out later this week.
