USA. Mexico. Estadio Azteca. I shouldn't need to say any more than that. The stage is always huge when the US plays Mexico at Azteca, and the motivation should be even higher (if that's possible) this time around. Mexico just won a Gold Medal in the Olympics over world power Brazil. The US failed to qualify for the Olympic tournament. And we all remember the Gold Cup Final loss after the US jumped out to an early lead. The motivation should be there for the Americans to claw and scratch out a win somehow, even though it is a friendly match. In my opinion, there is no "friendly" match between the US and Mexico.
You may notice this guy named Sean Johnson got called up. Yeah, he has been on Fire (pun intended) lately for Chicago, and has really turned it on the past month and a half. And Jurgen Klinsmann has taken notice. Sean's hard work and persistence have paid off, propelling him back to the National Team stage yet again. Well done Sean! The game can be seen at 7PM CST on ESPN2, ESPN3, and Univision. Make sure you also stop by HTIOT to join us on the gamethread.
