We are just a couple of hours before kickoff in a very big Eastern Conference game. With a win, the Fire would jump up to 44 points along with the Red Bulls. The game figures to be a grind-it-out battle, but I am confident when the whistle blows the Fire will be leaving RFK with all 3 points. We all remember the two goal, stoppage time stunner that the Men in Red pulled off late last fall at RFK. Tonight I see us jumping out to a lead (rare for us I know), and then tightening down the crews in our stingy defense to preserve the win.
As always, please join us for the gamethread tonight. Lineups will be posted when announced. I am predicting a 1-0 Fire win with Sherjill MacDonald netting his second Fire goal. DC United will be without a couple of key players, and they are coming off a brawl and a bit of internal team strife. The Fire need to take care of business tonight considering these things will be in our favor. Let's go Fire!
