With the 30th overall pick in the 2013 MLS SuperDraft, the Chicago Fire selected midfielder Yazid Atouba Emane. The 5'6" Cameroonian most recently played for Rainbow FC Bamenda in Cameroon.
Here's Matt Doyle's instant reaction from MLSSoccer.com:
"Showed amazingly quick feet at the Combine. He'll play wide in their 4-2-3-1. Pure attacker."
But he followed that up with this:
"That said, I feel kind of 'meh' about this pick."
Ives Galarcep had this insight on Atoba:
"I had Atouba as the 37th-rated player on the SBi Big Board," he said. "Very speedy winger, not afraid to take people on."
"He's a project", said Galarcep. "But multiple teams came away impressed."
Seems like a Patrick Nyarko type player. Could that mean Nyarko is getting looked at by teams overseas? Or is this simply a long-term project for the Fire?
