Like Art? Like Soccer? How About Both?

The Chicago Fire are once again set to host their 3rd annual celebration of two beautiful creations: art, and the game of soccer. The best part is that local Chicagoland area artists can be a part of it

Okay, okay so the event is actually called the Art of Futbol but when it comes to those two terms I cling stubbornly to the term that I have been raised with: soccer. That's neither here nor there though as the event is a great way to see some art from local artists depicting the beautiful game. I will admit that I am awful at drawing myself, but I love reading, looking at, and appreciating fine art. An added benefit of the Art of Futbol is that proceeds go to the Chicago Fire Foundation. That's right, it's a win-win. You get to see some wonderful art, and your browsing time directly helps others.

Music, light appetizers, and drinks will be provided as well. The event will take place on Thursday, May 16th from 7 to 9 pm at the Society Art Gallery (2140 W. Fulton Street, Chicago, IL 60612). For full info on how to submit your own samples for consideration, as well as all other info, check out the official Fire release here. So, if you get the chance, get out and support the sport you love, your local artists, and enjoy a nice evening of art appreciation.
