It's time once again for the Kings of the Cup to kick off another campaign

The Men in Red will finally spring back into action in US Open Cup play, searching for their 5th title. The first match will take place on Tuesday, May 28th. The Fire will either face the Seattle Sounders U-23 team or the Charlotte Eagles of the USL-Pro division. The Fire will host the game at Toyota Park if the Sounders win, but would have to go on the road if Charlotte wins.

For an very interesting read, check out this link. The Fire's very own Jeff Crandall was able to witness the selection process for the US Open Cup draw, and I have to say it's a very interesting read. Anyone looking at this article should click on and read the link. I personally would have never guessed that the process got as in depth as it did.

Chicago has always taken the US Open Cup seriously. After a disappointing early exit last year, here's to hoping the team can put together a memorable run this year to make up for it.
