Chicago Fire vs. Vancouver Whitecaps - MLS #18 - Gamethread - 6:00 PM CST -My50/107.9 FM

The Men in Red will travel into a tough environment to face a hot Vancouver team that is looking to climb up the standings themselves

The Fire will face the Whitecaps with a question mark at LB. Gonzalo Segares will miss the match due to card accumulation. Rather than seeing Hunter Jumper, the Fire signed Shaun Francis, formerly of the Charlotte Eagles (USL-PRO). With the backline struggling, Francis will need to put in a good shift to give the Fire a chance at walking away with points this evening. The defense must not give a dangerous 'Caps team second chances due to poor marking and failed clearances.

I called a 1-1 result in my Fireside Chat prediction. Walking away with all 3 points would be a great result, but it's going to be very tough to do that. If the defense plays better than they have of late, then we have a chance at a point. We know what the offense is capable of. We can't afford to spot Vancouver two quick goals at the start of the match. If the Men in Red can somehow strike first, I see Klopas bunkering down and playing for the points.

As always, we invite you to join us during the match and talk some Fire. Lineups will be posted before kickoff. Let's go Fire!
