COLUMBUS v CHICAGO - MLS #29 Gamethread

Fire need full three points to maintain control of own playoff fate; coverage begins at 6:30 CDT on My50 Chicago, TWSports-Wisconsin, LaLey 107.9FM

It makes sense that the club with the Village People crest is also extra down with the furry lifestyle. No? How about "Liam was later described as 'delicious' by the Crew's sideline mutant."? C'mon.

Simple enough: If the Fire are gonna maintain control over their own footing in this playoff race - if they're going to leave scoreboard watching to Houston and Philadelphia and New England, then they need three points tonight.

Now, at first blush it seems a simple enough ask. Chicago's already rung up three wins over the Crew this season; can a fourth be that much harder? Well, of course it can be. Look for Columbus to come out flying and try to stagger the Flre with energy and defensive pressure; Chicago would do well to keep its powder dry and wait for the inevitable opportunities to counter-punch.

As always, lineups and such here an hour before kickoff. Tonight's game will be broadcast locally in the Chicago area on My50 Chicago, with coverage in some areas also on TimeWarner Sports Wisconsin. La Ley 107.9 FM will, as always, have the call en español.
