Dankeschön, Mike! New Fire Commercial Focuses On League MVP

Chicago Fire are set to film a new commercial that will make Chicagoans remember the 80s, and celebrate MVP Mike Magee's recent success at the club

Our very own league MVP "Magic" Mike Magee is about to get some well-deserved local and national attention. Major League Soccer and The Chicago Fire will be filming a commercial starring Magee that will give a nod to one of Chicago’s most iconic 80s pop culture stars.

Can you guess who?

Anyone? Bueller…Bueller?

That’s right, the commercial that is set to be filmed on Friday afternoon at Toyota Park and will be a parody of the parade scene in ‘Ferris Bueller’s Day Off’ when Chicago’s favorite class-skipping scamp seizes the opportunity to be the life of the party during Chicago’s German Day Parade.

Filming for the commercial begins Friday, April 18th at 1 p.m. CT in the Toyota Park parking lot, and season ticket holder fans are encouraged to wear their Fire gear and be an extra in the crowd during filming.

Coming from the city? The Fire are providing free buses that will run from The Globe Pub and Cleo’s to the stadium for the commercial shoot. The buses leave from each pub at 12 noon.

We know how important publicity is for our club and how it’s been scarce in the past, but I’m excited that this is happening for the Fire, and it’s sure to be a great time. And please, oh please, I just hope more anything in the world that Mike sings ‘Dankeschön’ to all of his Fire Faithful. And maybe wear that awesome leopard print sweater vest.

More information on the commercial shoot is available on the Section 8 website here.
