Tom Sermanni was shockingly let go as the head coach of the U.S. Women's National Team and there was a giant mystery about why. He had lost only two games but struggled in the Algarve Cup. Sunil Gulati shed some light on the mystery but (unsurprisingly) didn't give a clear-cut answer.
Is this what being a fan of Brazil or Real Madrid feels like? Because this is wild. It will be interesting to see if the new coach comes from NWSL right before the season starts or not.
Jozy struggling
As the World Cup draws closer, the performances of the U.S. players get analyzed more and more. Jozy isn't fighting for a roster spot but playing for Sunderland's U-21 team instead of the first team is not a good sign. This is starting to become a worry because if we are to make it out the group stages, everyone is going to need to be in form.
Thomas Rongen interview
For those who don't know who Thomas Rongen is, he was the former head coach of the U.S. U-20's. Now he is the coach of America Samoa who are considered to be the worst national team in the world. They just won their first ever qualifying game in the past year. He was interviewed for a documentary about his time and should be very interesting.
MLS fantasy advice
Let's be honest here, we all could use some MLS fantasy advice. As the first few weeks have passed, it's time to evaluate your team and if you are me, you look at it and think about all the horrible decisions I made. I'm not giving up yet and if you aren't either, here is some advice.
Brek Shea to Toronto?
Toronto and all their fire power own the first spot in the allocation order. That's a very popular spot to be in with the European transfer window opening up in a few months. One player who might be coming back is Brek Shea so of course Toronto says they are interested. I have no idea how this would work with their DP situation but it's probably just Toronto starting a bidding war so they can have even more cash.
U.S. World Cup Roster
It's time for our favorite game. Who will make the U.S. World Cup roster? We are only a few months away so now is when things get serious. Who is in? Who is out? Brian Sciaretta of American Soccer Now has his predictions up. Let's debate!
Thoughts on Sermanni being fired? Considered about Jozy? Think Brek Shea will come back? Who makes your World Cup roster?
