GAMETHREAD: Toronto v. FIRE, 6:00 p.m., My50 Chicago

New, comments

As the playoffs get closer, the importance of each game increases. The Fire need a win tonight but that could be tough north of the border.

Dennis Wierzbicki-USA TODAY Sports

As the Men in Red travel north to Toronto for an importance match, the team remains in turmoil. Jhon Kennedy Hurtado is gone, Jermaine Jones is in limbo and Robert Earnshaw might make his debut tonight. Toronto has gone from one the worst teams in the league to one of the best in large thanks to Tim Leiweke and a large pile of cash. Leiweke is leaving the team next year but will be remembered for bringing in Michael Bradley and Jermain Defoe.

Every game that passes becomes more important for the Fire. The playoffs are not out of reach and a quick winning streak puts the team back in contention. Even though the time has shown little signs of life recently, there's always that sliver of hope that the team could catch on "fire" (not apologizing).

Here is the lineup for the game.
