Instead of our regular match-day preview, HTIOT would like to invite you to join us for a live discussion just prior to and throughout tonight's match against NYRB

Mike DiNovo-USA TODAY Sports

The Chicago Fire once again zip up their suitcases and hit the road for a Friday away match against the New York Red Bulls at Red Bull Arena in New Jersey. Kickoff is scheduled for just a few minutes away, sometime after 6 pm. This is the Fire’s 3rd consecutive away match, so the travel-weary Fire will attempt to steal three points on the road once again. They have not yet won on the road this season. The Fire were unsuccessful in their last attempt to earn a point on the road when they were downed by the efforts of Didier Drogba and Montreal Impact at Saputo Stadium last Saturday being edged 3-4.

The Fire have not won a game since Wednesday August 26,th when the Fire defeated the New York Red Bulls at home. That match was widely thought to be one of the best performances for the Chicago Fire in the 2015 season. The Red Bulls, under the leadership of Jesse Marsch, will certainly be looking for revenge in front of the home crowd. The energy drink guzzlers are sitting 2 points outside of first place in the Eastern conference with 3 games in hand and will be looking to use the Friday match to creep into first place. The Fire will hope to repeat the strong performance against the Bulls from August and demonstrate that they are a club capable of taking down the top clubs in the conference. They remain 4 points outside of the playoff race in last place.
