Go ahead and set your sarcasm filters to 'kill,' because Hot Time is gonna ... oh, I dunno, be sarcastic or something. Sean Spence is in charge again ... don't think I don't hear you groaning, damn it

Toronto's Steven Beitashour is all like "bro, nice job on the return to Hot Time" except of course he doesn't know me or read Hot Time so this is just a fantasy based upon the first photo in my feed.

Hot Time in the Old Town was founded by Tweed Thornton to examine and celebrate Chicago soccer, with a special emphasis on the Chicago Fire. Since its inception, the Men in Red have gotten worse ... and worse ... and worse.

Of course it's a trick of history. OF COURSE. SB Nation came around after 2009. After Blanco. After sellouts. After hope. So of course its history of the Chicago Fire has been bleak, bleaker, bleakest.

It's not our fault. We swear. Pretty sure, anyway ... haven't traded any Homegrown starters for the allocation to offset Joey Harrington's salary. Haven't insisted the Fire spend less on medical staff. Haven't cut budgets year after year in the face of ever-worsening feedback. That weren't us.

After Tweed there was Ryan (et al) and then there was me. Then Jeff.

Now me again. That's the point of this post - I'm the third and fifth EIC of Hot Time, and I'm looking forward to getting to know a whole lot more folks. Hope this finds everyone well -

Yours,

Sean Spence
