The Chicago Fire are dangerously close to losing David Accam during Europe’s Deadline Day signing frenzy as teams from the top leagues in the world look to bolster their sides before 2017.

FC Nantes is reportedly making multiple attempts for the Ghanaian, but the Fire have apparently rejected them all to this point. According to some outlets, the rejections are not because the offers are too low, but because the club does not want to lose him without being able to replace him as MLS teams can no longer bring in new players this year.
I have no idea if that is the actual reason or not. What is clear is that it will take a lot for Nantes to pull this off right now. It is not looking likely, but Nantes has not broken off discussions yet, according to reports.
We will keep you updated. The European window closes at 4:30 p.m. CT.
