We’re two hours away from kickoff as the Chicago Fire host the New York Red Bulls in the 2017 MLS Cup Playoffs.
Goddamn, it feels great to type that.
This is our first postseason game in five years. It could be our last for five more. Who knows. The important thing is we’re here now, after years of shambling failure, back where the Men In Red belong. Fighting it out in the playoffs, potentially steps away from adding a second star to the badge.
The Fire are at home, where they’ve kicked ass and taken names all season long. The Red Bulls are tricky, but beatable. Take a few minutes to read Jigs’ game preview and how the Fire can do just that.
This is both the Fire’s reward for a great season and their biggest test of that season. There’s no more learning from mistakes and coming back stronger the next week. This is it. Win or go home.
How are YOU feeling about tonight? Excited? Nervous? Wary? Jump in the comments and let us know!
