By now you’ve certainly caught wind of the hype surrounding Juan Quintero. The Colombian trequartista, currently with Deportivo Independiente Medellín on loan from FC Porto, has been linked with a move to Major League Soccer this month. The rumors were all pointing toward Quintero landing in Chicago. The links to the Fire have since cooled, but there was still plenty of speculation that he could end up here. The ITK corner of Soccer Twitter was supremely confident as of last week that a deal was close to finalization.
Alas, it seems like it won’t be happening.

Juan Fernando Quintero se queda en @DIM_Oficial
There hasn’t been a clear, unambiguous announcement from official channels yet. But it looks like the Quintero move is on ice for now.
Sorry, friends. It was fun while it lasted.
