A laundry list of MLS All-Stars were on the pitch tonight, and it took quite a while to find the back of the net. Tim Howard pulled of a number of flashy saves in the first half, but the MLS All-Stars were devoid of attacking prowess until very late on.
Real Madrid finally scored in the 59th minute, and Dom Dwyer found a way to claw the All-Stars back into the match with his 86th minute header from a set piece.
After a poor performance from the outfielders when it came to penalties, I’ve gotta give the Man of the Match nod to Tim Howard. He kept the clean sheet for his portion of the match, and that’s all we could have asked of him.
