Chicago Red Stars 1, FC Kansas City 3: Woman of the Match

We sift through the wreckage to find something worth salvaging

Three home games. Three straight losses. Is it time to panic? I’m not sure if I’d blame anyone for panicking now. There’s still time left in the season to turn things around but, if we’re being honest with ourselves, things aren’t looking good.

We’re going to name Julie Ertz as our WOTM this week. She moved around a lot positionally tonight— first as the holding midfielder and then as a #10. No matter where she was, she was far and away the best player in a Red Stars shirt tonight. And of course, she scored Chicago’s only goal.

Now let us know how you saw it. Vote for your choice for WOTM in the poll below. The poll will be open for two days, after which we’ll publicize the results. (Note: if you’re viewing this post from AMP or Apple News, you won’t see the poll below. Feel free to tell us your pick in the comments.)
