Given how the Fire have been the past few years, you could forgive the fans— and the Hot Time crew— for giving in to despair ahead of tonight’s clash with New England. In years past, the players wouldn’t be able to shake off the recent losses and tonight would’ve been three in a row. Instead, the Fire manhandled the Revs, controlling the game throughout and securing an emphatic 4-1 win. Not bad for a game in which neither Nikolic or Accam got on the scoreboard. All the goalscorers tonight don’t usually get on the statsheet, and all deserve credit for some heroic efforts. But we’re going to single out Matt Polster— who, again, is playing as a right-back now— for his first goal in Fire Red. For that and so much more this season, we’re naming him our Man Of The Match.
Now let us know how you saw it. Vote for your choice for MOTM in the poll below. The poll will be open for two days, after which we’ll publicize the results. (Note: if you’re viewing this post from AMP or Apple News, you won’t see the poll below. Feel free to tell us your pick in the comments.)
