Matt Polster has earned a spot in the MLS Team of the Week for his performance in the Fire’s 1-0 win in against Montreal on Saturday.
The defender had missed the Fire’s previous three matches with a left knee injury, and his absence was noticeable as the team lost 4 matches in a row, conceding 11 goals, to finish the month of August
On Saturday, Polster picked up right where he left off before the injury. The young American international assisted on Bastian Schweinsteiger’s game-winning goal in the 59th minute, picking out the World Cup winner with a perfectly slotted pass.

The outside back was also critical to keeping a clean sheet. He lined up against Montreal star Ignacio Piatti, and was able to keep the Argentinian play-maker under wraps for much of the game.
Chicago Fire midfielder Juninho also features in the TOTW for week 26. The veteran was selected for the team’s bench following gritty, 90 minute shift on Saturday.
