Fire Release Taster For The 2019 Season

The Men In Red will begin their next campaign on the road against the Galaxy before coming home to take on Orlando

MLS: Orlando City SC at Chicago Fire Mike DiNovo-USA TODAY Sports

How are you? Enjoying the offseason? Savoring the quiet time before the Chicago Fire preseason begins in earnest?

Well, too bad. 2019 is coming atcha like a freight train.

The club announced the opening fixtures of the 2019 MLS season earlier this morning— which means our first two Saturdays in March are already spoken for.

The Men In Red will begin Year Four of Nelson Rodriguez’ Three-Year Plan on the road against the LA Galaxy on March 2nd. That game is scheduled to kick off at 7pm CT.

(Side note: the StubHub Center is now apparently called Dignity Health Sports Park.)

Chicago’s first home game is scheduled for the following weekend, with the Fire set to take on fellow Eastern Conference underachievers Orlando City on March 9th. The home opener is scheduled to kick off at noon, at the place we now all have to call SeatGeek Stadium.

The rest of the schedule will reportedly be released in January. If I were a betting girl, I’d count on the schedule dropping right before the MLS SuperDraft on January 11th.

Leave your thoughts on the schedule teaser in the comments below.
