The NWSL announced their schedule for opening weekend in the 2018 regular season earlier today.
As part of the opening slate of fixtures, the Chicago Red Stars will travel to Houston to take on the Dash in what is becoming something of a yearly tradition.
In theory, this means the Red Stars won’t have to wait long to reunite with former star striker Christen Press. The USWNT starlet joined the Dash last month as part of a blockbuster three-way trade that landed put 2017 NWSL MVP Sam Kerr in Chicago.
The full schedule for the season has yet to be released, and it’s unclear when exactly the league tends to make that information available.
Here’s the full lineup for opening weekend:
March 24
North Carolina Courage vs. Portland Thorns FC, 2:30pm CST (NWSL Game of the Week on Lifetime)
Orlando Pride vs. Utah Royals FC, 6:30pm CST
Seattle Reign FC vs. Washington Spirit, 9:00pm CST
March 25
Houston Dash vs. Chicago Red Stars, 5:00pm CST
The Red Stars also released their full preseason schedule yesterday. We’ll have a full write-up on that later this afternoon.
