Nemanja Nikolic Called Up For International Duty

Niko will be in contention for minutes in friendlies against Kazakhstan and Scotland

MLS: Sporting KC at Chicago Fire Kamil Krzaczynski-USA TODAY Sports

Last Friday the Chicago Fire announced that Nemanja Nikolic has been called up for the Hungarian National Team for the upcoming international break.

Nikolic and Hungary will face Kazakhstan on March 23rd and Scotland five days later.

Niko got his first cap back in 2013 in an 8-1 loss to the Netherlands. Later that year he got his first goal for Hungary against Andorra. Since then he has been capped 25 times, scoring five with his most recent goal against Costa Rica in a friendly last year.

If you feel like supporting Niko in his upcoming adventures both internationally and for the club, the Fire has recently released a “No Niko, No Party” shirt. But tbh, it is a tad bit bland, unlike the man himself.

Since joining the Fire from Legia Warsaw last year, Nikolic has scored 26 goals in 35 appearances. His last goals for the club was during the home opener in the 3-4 loss to Sporting Kansas City.

Good luck Niko!

P.S Don’t get injured.
