We’re back with all the details about the Chi City / Rose City doubleheader because the only thing more fun than one soccer game is two soccer games!
Saturday, March 31st will be the Chicago Fire’s second home game of the season and the home opener for the Chicago Red Stars, with both teams facing off against Portland. Local 134, Section 8, and Sector Latino have been working hard behind the scenes to prepare a full day of activities.
Friday Night - 8:00pm - Night Before party at Cleos for supporters of all four teams.
Saturday - 3:00pm - The joint S8C/L134 Tailgate begins in the North Lot near Gate C! Food will be served up by volunteers from both groups for a small donation. There will also be merch available for purchase, including this slick scarf to commemorate the day:
4:25pm - Enter and meet past security at Gate C on ground level for the 4:30pm Section 8 Walk Up. Flags, banners, scarves, and loud voices are encouraged.
5:00pm - Kickoff for Fire vs. Timbers. We suggest standing with supporters groups either in the Harlem End (Section 118) or Sector Latino (101).
7:15pm (approximately) - Kickoff for Red Stars vs. Thorns. This game will start almost immediately after the first game, with only about 15 minutes in between them. Stick around and join in on the chants. We’ll have printouts for you to follow along and we’re also working with Sector Musical to add some more beats. Keep an eye out for a fresh, new look for 2018 in the Harlem End during the Red Stars match as well.
Need tickets still? Find them here - tickets for either match work for both matches!
Post-game - after party upstairs at Reggie’s on the enclosed rooftop deck for supporters of all teams.
Finally, we’re teaming up with 2nd City Social Club for #GiveForGoals - a PledgeIt fundraiser for GirlForward. GirlForward is a community of support dedicated to creating and enhancing opportunities for girls who have been displaced by conflict and persecution. You can pledge any dollar amount per goal, and your total donation will be that amount multiplied by the number of Fire and Red Stars goals scored on 3/31.
