And rightfully so!

Sofia Huerta has had an amazing start to the 2018 season. The Chicago Red Stars forward scored two goals in as many games and was a critical factor in her team’s positive results against the Houston Dash and Sky Blue FC. She won our WOTM poll for the Houston game last week and shared the honor against Sky Blue on Saturday.

And now the rest of the league is taking notice. Her performances in Week 4 were enough to be named the NWSL Player Of The Week.

Her second goal in the first minute against Sky Blue last Saturday clocked in at just 44 seconds, making it the fifth fasted scored goal in NWSL history.

This marks the fourth POTW nod for Huerta and the tenth for a Red Stars player. Huerta is also the seventh player in NWSL history to win the award at least four times.
