Earlier today US Soccer announced their Women’s National Team squad for next month’s friendlies against China PR.
Three Chicago Red Stars players will be linking up with the Americans next week ahead of the friendlies on June 7th and 12th. Midfielder and captain Julie Ertz, forward Sofia Huerta (who will once again be played as a defender for the USWNT), and goalkeeper Alyssa Naeher will be repping the stars and stripes.
The Red Stars have no league games scheduled while their WNT trio are away. After this weekend’s clash with the Washington Spirit, their next game will be on June 16th at home against the Portland Thorns.
These friendlies will be the last games before the 2018 Tournament Of Nations, which will be held from July 26-Aug. 2. The last gameday of that competition will be held at Toyota Park.
