Philadelphia Union 3, Chicago Fire 1: Man Of The Match

MLS: Chicago Fire at Philadelphia Union Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

The worst losses are the ones where you think maybe it could’ve turned out different. For a while it looked like the Fire would be able to conjure a result, somehow. But nope. Nope nope nope.

We’re going with Patrick McLain as our MOTM. He put in a solid enough performance, and his clutch saves throughout the game— and particularly in the first half— kept the Fire in it until pretty late on. We’re really starting to warm up to this kid.

(Honorable mention: Brandt Bronico for his work on the Fire’s lone goal.)

Now let us know how you saw it. Vote for your choice for MOTM in the poll below. The poll will be open for two days, after which we’ll publicize the results. (Note: if you’re viewing this post from AMP or Apple News, you won’t see the poll below. Feel free to tell us your pick in the comments.)
