Mihailovic Makes Final USMNT January Roster

The Fire HGP will be available for selection as the USMNT take on Panama and Costa Rica in the next couple weeks

One of our youts might get his first cap in the next week or two.

Chicago Fire Homegrown midfielder Djordje Mihailovic has been named to the final 23-player roster for the United States Men’s National Team. He’ll be available for upcoming friendlies against Panama and Costa Rica.

The 20-year-old was invited to Gregg Berhalter’s first January camp as USMNT head coach back in December— part of a class composed primarily of MLS players and who tended to be on the younger side (which is typical of January camps). After a couple weeks of training and evaluations, Berhalter was impressed enough with Mihailovic’s work to keep him on the roster after final cuts.

Mihailovic has yet to earn his first senior cap, although he has made 6 appearances for the U19s.

The USMNT set to take on the two CONCACAF rivals as preparation for this summer’s Gold Cup. They’ll face Panama on January 27th at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. They’ll then take on Costa Rica at Avaya Stadium in San Jose, California, on February 2nd.
