We made the ultimate Chicago Red Stars Gameday playlist

We asked the Red Stars for their top songs. And then compiled them into some hot fire.

Going into the 2019 NWSL Championship Media Day, we only had one mission. Well, a couple missions, but one of them was to walk out of there with the definitive gameday playlist for the 2019 Chicago Red Stars.

First off, this list is compiled of Red Stars that are going to be available to play on Sunday, and took part in media day. (A heavy salute to Tierna Davidson, Arin Wright, Alyssa Mautz, Michele Vasconcelos, and AJ Jahansouz. Your picks would have been fire.)

Secondly, we should highlight that this was a tortured process for some, with some necessary caveats. Nikki Stanton went with Swervin’ by A Boogie Wit da Hoodie, despite asserting that she’s also “really into Enya right now”. Julie Ertz said her favorite thing to hear before games is when she’s Facetiming with her husband Zach, which is incredibly sweet but also hasn’t been released on Spotify yet. Mackenzie Arnold told us just to put something by Justin Beiber in there (we obliged with I’m the One). Danny Colaprico’s choice of Sicko Mode was a shoutout to Chicago home games (if you know, you know). And while some of her teammates opted to tag along with their interview partners’ choices, in lieu of a song, Vanessa DiBernardo suggested that she’s a playlist person. A Chicago Red Stars Playlist person. So we named it after her.

So here it is, folks. A Chicago Red Stars Playlist: Playlist
