The Chicago Red Stars wrap up their 2020 NWSL Fall Series campaign late this morning when they visit Sky Blue FC at MSU Soccer Park in Monclair, NJ (11:30 a.m. CT, CBS All Access).
Last time out, Chicago tied the Washington Spirit 1-1, after Savannah McCaskill scored off an assist from Sarah Luebbert. Back on Sept. 20, the Red Stars pounded Sky Blue 4-1, in the team’s best offensive performance of the Fall Series.
Today’s match concludes a strange, pandemic-altered 2020 for the Red Stars, that saw the team spend a month in quarantine in Utah, losing in the final of the Challenge Cup to the Houston Dash. These Fall Series games came about as a late addition to the schedule. Here’s hoping next season looks a little more normal.
Other News: Six Chicago Red Stars made the USWNT’s October training camp roster: Alyssa Naeher, Tierna Davidson, Morgan Gautrat, Casey Short, Sarah Gorden, and Kealia Watt. USWNT head coach Vlatko Andonovsky had high praise for Gorden and Watt in a news conference this week.
