When I interviewed Jonathan Bornstein last week, I could hear his girls yelling in the background. I was actually kind of relieved, because I’m also at home with my two kids, and it’s next to impossible to keep them quiet when I’m on the phone or otherwise doing something important. I love my kids and I really enjoy the extra time I’m getting with them, but there is no quiet time anymore.
So, I was pretty happy to see the Chicago Fire’s latest “Road to Soldier Field” video featuring my fellow stay-at-home dads—Jonny Bornstein and Johan Kappelhof. As usual, it’s another great job from the Fire’s video team.
The stay at home dad handbook ❤️

Armas looks back at a key USMNT win
U.S. Soccer looked back at another important match this week—this time the October 2001 World Cup qualifying win over Jamaica—the first MNT match since the September 11th terrorist attacks. Fire legend and current New York Red Bulls head coach Chris Armas joined Claudio Reyna and Jack Edwards for the pre-match show.
Marsch and Wynalda go Full Mingo
The Fire’s USL affiliate, Forward Madison, has a pretty cool virtual event coming up. Jesse Marsch and Eric Wynalda will join Forward Madison’s Daryl Shore for the next edition of “Just Coffee with the ‘Mingos.” Fans can sign up to join the chat on the team’s website, although space is limited. The session with Marsch, Wynalda and Shore will take place on Wednesday, April 22 at 2 p.m. Marsch is currently the head coach of Red Bull Salzburg, and Wynalda is the head coach of the USL’s Las Vegas Lights. The two were Chicago Fire teammates in 2001.
