The 2020 MLS All-Star Game is off. The league announced the match, which was supposed to see MLS players take on Liga MX players at Banc of California Stadium in Los Angeles, has been canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic. But, the league said it is hopeful the match will slide to 2021.
“The 2021 MLS All-Star Game and festivities are expected to take place in Los Angeles at the same venue. MLS and LIGA MX will resume discussions regarding the event, and there is every expectation that next year’s All-Star Game will be MLS vs. LIGA MX in Los Angeles,” MLS said in a statement.
Additionally, MLS and Liga MX announced the cancelation of the 2020 editions of the Leagues Cup and the Campeones Cup. Leagues Cup was supposed to run from July to September, and Campeones Cup was scheduled for August in Seattle, where the Sounders were supposed to face Liga MX’s Campeon de Campeones.
