A gritty, 72nd minute goal by Savannah McCaskill was good enough to help the Chicago Red Stars grab a point in the team’s NWSL Fall Series matchup at SeatGeek Stadium Saturday afternoon.
It was looking like Chicago might take all three points in the match, but in the 87th minute, Washington’s Crystal Thomas beat Alyssa Naeher, and the Spirit escaped Bridgeview with a point.
The match, which was played before a national TV audience on CBS, was the final home game of the NWSL Fall Series for the Red Stars. The team is now 1-1-1 in the Fall Series. Next up, the Red Stars will travel to play Sky Blue FC on Saturday, October 10th. Kickoff is set for 11:30 am CT on CBS All-Access.
