We’re starting to see the emergence of one of the most exciting American players coming up through the youth ranks here on the lakefront. One of the big questions marks the last few years has been the question of where the emerging goalkeeping talent is. Tonight, the Chicago Fire answered that question with gusto. It’s right here on the lakefront, and he’s in the hometown jersey. Gabriel “Gaga” Slonina made 5 second-half saves to protect his clean sheet and lead his team to victory. It isn’t just his saves, though. Every week his command of the box and the defense gets better and better. The future is bright between the sticks, and the 17 year old gets our Man of the Match.
