The Chicago Fire’s 2021 preseason schedule is out... sort of.
The Fire will play four games in Florida, but right now, only one opponent is official: Orlando City.
As we reported earlier this week, the Fire are in the middle of a week-long quarantine, before beginning full team training on March 1 at SeatGeek Stadium. After a week in Bridgeview, the Fire will head to Orlando on Sunday, March 7 for nearly a month.
Chicago will face three to-be-announced MLS opponents on March 13, March 20 and March 27, before taking on Orlando City SC on April 3. The game against Orlando is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m. CT.
The Fire’s preseason games are not scheduled for streaming or TV, but the club plans to post highlights on social media in real time.
After the Orlando match, the team will return to Chicago and resume training at SeatGeek Stadium on Monday, April 5. The Fire are exploring the possibility of adding additional preseason games or scrimmages after returning from Orlando, but nothing is finalized on that front.
The regular season kicks off April 17. MLS has said the schedule will be announced “in the coming weeks.”
