The Chicago Red Stars will travel to Houston, Texas for the fourth match of the NWSL regular season tonight against the Houston Dash at BBVA Compass Stadium. The match will kickoff at 6:30 PM CT.
The Red Stars are coming off their first win of the season, securing a 2-0 victory in the mid-week match against Kansas City. Goals from Kealia Watt and Makenzy Doniak propelled the Red Stars to that win. Watt, who started on the bench in Kansas City, is expected to start against Houston.
The Houston Dash currently sit in last place in the NWSL regular-season table, with their solitary point in the standings coming in a 2-2 draw with Kansas City. In their previous match against the Washington Spirit, the Dash saw an early lead evaporate as they collapsed to a 2-1 defeat against a shorthanded Spirit, who were forced to play with 10 due to a red card. Because of her red card, US international Andi Sullivan will miss this game.
The Red Stars are still without Julie Ertz who suffered an MCL injury against Portland a few weeks back. Further rotation in the starting lineup should still be expected, though, due to the quick turnaround between games. Danielle Colaprico, Mallory Pugh, and Kealia Watt all started on the bench against Kansas City, but are expected to slot back into the starting eleven.
The match will be aired on CBS Sports Network.
